TINI MATHOT

Tini Mathot was born in Amsterdam. She studied piano and harpsichord at the Sweelinck Conservatory in her native town.
She works in tight collaboration with her husband (and former teacher) Ton Koopman with whom she regularly performs in concert halls all over the world. Their repertoire for either two harpsichords, harpsichord and pianoforte, harpsichord and organ or two organs, ranges from well known to rediscovered unknown works.

Duo concerts with her husband in the 2002-2003 season will bring her amongst others to Zürich, Echternach, Ansbach, Verteillac (F), Mexico City, Atlanta (USA), Carmel (USA), Saratoga (USA), Lausanne, Geneva, Vienna, Southampton, Bristol, Lubljana, Trento, Mantua, Padua, Pistoia, Varese, Florence, Zwolle and Paris.
Tini Mathot has performed as a soloist with orchestras all over the world.

Apart from the above she spends most of her time as producer of the recordings by Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir, but also of other leading ensembles. In this function she made numerous recordings for the labels ERATO, TELDEC and other well-known companies.

Since 1980 Tini Mathot forms a duo with recorder player Reine-Marie Verhagen, this duo being the base for the Corelli Ensemble.
She was awarded the Diapason d’Or for her fortepiano playing of the Haydn trios together with Jaap ter Linden, cello and Andrew Manze, violin (ERATO).

Tini Mathot is professor of harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory The Hague.
