Guillaume Bellom has one of the most atypical backgrounds of his generation, pursuing violin studies alongside the piano, from the Conservatoire de Besançon to the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM). It was through contact with outstanding musical figures such as Nicholas Angelich and Hortense Cartier-Bresson that he fully developed his activity as a pianist.
A finalist and winner of the “Modern Times” prize for best performance of the contemporary work at the Clara Haskil Competition in 2015, he came to prominence at this event dedicated to the Romanian pianist, herself an occasional violinist. That same year he won first prize at the Épinal International Competition and became a laureate of the L’Or du Rhin Foundation, before receiving the Thierry Scherz Prize at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad the following year. The wider public discovered him at the 2017 Victoires de la Musique, where he was nominated in the “Instrumental Soloist Revelation” category. He has been in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac as an associated artist since 2018.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Orchestre National de Montpellier and the Orchestre National de Lorraine, under the direction of Jacques Mercier, Christian Zacharias and Marzena Diakun. He performs regularly at the Festival de Pâques d’Aix-en-Provence, the International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, Piano aux Jacobins, the Chopin Festival in Nohant, the Easter Festivals and the Août Musical in Deauville, and the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, as well as venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Radio France Auditorium, the Athens Opera, the Shanghai Concert Hall, the Library of Congress in Washington, the Royal Opera House in Mumbai, and the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, alongside artists including Renaud Capuçon, Paul Meyer, Yan Levionnois and Victor Julien-Laferrière.
His discography includes two albums devoted to Schubert’s works for piano four hands (awarded a “ffff” by Télérama) and to Mozart, recorded with Ismaël Margain for the Aparté label; a sonata album with cellist Yan Levionnois, released in 2017 on Fondamenta (also “ffff” Télérama); a solo recording released on Claves the same year, devoted to Schubert, Haydn and Debussy; and a live album with the Girard Quartet devoted to Saint-Saëns’s chamber music for B Records in 2019. For his most recent solo album on Mirare, Richard Strauss, Piano Works, released in April 2024, Guillaume Bellom explores Richard Strauss’s early opus numbers, which foreshadow his great epic and orchestral works.

C’est au contact de personnalités musicales marquantes, telles que Nicholas Angelich et Hortense Cartier-Bresson, qu’il développe pleinement son activité de pianiste.
Finaliste et prix “Modern Times” de la meilleure interprétation de la pièce contemporaine lors du concours Clara Haskil en 2015, il se révèle lors de cet événement dédié à la pianiste roumaine, elle-même violoniste à ses heures. La même année, il remporte le premier prix du concours international d’Épinal et devient lauréat de la fondation L’Or du Rhin, avant de remporter le prix Thierry Scherz des Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad l’année suivante. Le grand public le découvre lors des Victoires de la Musique 2017, où il est nommé dans la catégorie “révélation soliste instrumental”. Il est en résidence à la Fondation Singer-Polignac en tant qu'artiste associé depuis 2018.

Sa discographie comporte notamment deux albums dédiés aux œuvres pour quatre mains de Schubert (recompensé par un “ffff” Télérama) et Mozart, enregistrés avec Ismaël Margain pour le label Aparté, un disque en sonate avec le violoncelliste Yan Levionnois, paru en 2017 pour Fondamenta (“ffff” Télérama), un disque en solo paru chez Claves la même année, consacré à Schubert, Haydn et Debussy, ou encore un disque live avec le quatuor Girard consacré à la musique de chambre de Saint-Saëns pour B Records en 2019. Pour son premier disque en solo chez Mirare, Richard Strauss, Piano Works sorti en avril 2024, Guillaume Bellom explore les opus de jeunesse de Richard Strauss, qui préfigurent ses grandes œuvres épiques et orchestrales.
